Dr. Gina Nalbandian is a fellowship trained board certified foot and ankle specialist. She is a diplomate of both the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and American Board of Podiatric Medicine with additional qualification in foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. She completed a comprehensive three year residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, a Tufts University hospital, with emphasis on foot and ankle reconstructive and revisional surgery, where she served as academic coordinator and chief resident. She then completed a fellowship with UFAI/UCLA with emphasis in sports medicine and minimally invasive surgery.

As a Los Angeles native, Dr. Nalbandian brings to the staff a lifelong love of sports and a deep passion for helping patients to live active lives. She stayed active through her youth and participated in competitive volleyball and track. Her interest in practicing medicine blossomed in high school when she took part in a medical-focus program. She realized she wanted to be a part of allowing people to walk, run, and play sports pain-free. While an undergrad at UC San Diego, the doctor volunteered at free clinics, hospitals and with the AIDS Project in Los Angeles, all the while exploring various careers in medicine. She conducted and published her research in the lab on campus. She pursued podiatry because she loved the diversity it offers and the hands-on approach of the field. During her medical school training, she continued volunteering at free clinics and also began offering her expertise with the Special Olympics and Happy Feet, providing foot care at homeless shelters. In addition, she explored her interest in research and became the Editor-In-Chief of the schoolwide Journal of Lower Limb Medicine. For her residency training, Dr. Nalbandian ventured to Boston, where was a Clinical Fellow of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine and served as academic coordinator and chief resident. During this time, she volunteered at the Boston Marathon, lectured at multiple nationwide conferences, and conducted published research, including co-authoring a chapter on Achilles tendon disorders in a world-renowned surgical textbook. Her fellowship brought her back home to Los Angeles, where her training emphasized on sports medicine and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Nalbandian thoroughly enjoys treating her patients and providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide array of foot and ankle conditions. She speaks English and Armenian.
